  1. Looks good. Kudos for riding in those temps. I went for a ride yesterday at about 19F and only got 7 miles before my hands and feet were causing me a lot of pain. I think mid 20's is about my limit.

    Have Fun!

  3. Absolutely great looking adventure setup! What are those drybags and how large are they?

  4. I changed the front drybag to sit across the rack instead of along it. It would otherwise have blocked the handlebar light too much.

The drybags are 8 liters and 20 liters. The front bag could have been a little bigger for this trip. I'm not sure I would recommend these bags, since the inside was not slippery enough, making it more difficult to pack.

  5. Good to know. What's the maker/brand of the bags? I'm still looking for the Alpkit Airlok XTra bags, good set of different sizes, colors and they are pretty affordable. And of course also that Hunka bivvy, just don't know if the regular size is big enough for reg. size Marmot Never Summer...

  6. These were Sea-to-Summit bags. The Marmot Never Summer long version fits the 20 liter bag without a problem. I also had the down jacket and some small stuff in the same bag.

  7. How much does the bike itself weight? Have you been happy with the rear hub? Enough gears for you needs?

  8. The bike weighs around 18 kg with the bag and racks, so it is not that light. The rear hub is nice. The gear range is wide enough at least for winter use, but could be a little lower still. I've ordered a 24t rear sprocket to get it a little lower. The Alfine hub is a little heavy, but I'm not sure that an external derailleur could have coped with everything the Alfine hub has been through this far. I would choose it again if presented with the choice.
